How I Use New Year's Resolutions

There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
— C.S. Lewis

Around this time of year, it seems that everyone has a prosperous view on the new year and how it will be extremely profitable and amazing. A lot of people joke about New Year's Resolutions because they know that by the end of the year they will most likely still have the same struggles as they did the year before.

However, I believe there is value in starting over and having a continued focus in mind. I like the idea of having a theme or overall goal for the year, it keeps me moving and looking forward to something better. It challenges me when things don't seem to be going right.

I have decided that this year, I will live with intention. It is defined as "an aim or a plan." Some synonyms of the word are the following: deliberateness, design, and meaning. Often times, we can get stuck in the monotony of daily life that we go on auto pilot and before we know it, the year is already over. We then roll our eyes at those who continue to make those New Year's Resolutions because it truly seems as though nothing could change.

I challenge you make a resolution/goal/theme, except don't make it for the new year. Make it a daily challenge. Make every day a day that you plan to make amazing. That every day you wake up with motivation and a positive outlook that today will be amazing no matter what. So live like you are blessed and pray for those who need an extra push in life.  And choose to make each moment, each day, filled with a positive outlook and purpose.
