It's a New Season. It's a New Day.

Here is an update on my life.

I moved to Brooklyn, New York for a photography internship that has been very rewarding. It has been probably one of the best life choices that I could have ever made. It has not only shaped me as a photographer, but the personal growth that I have gained has also been fulfilling. I have been able to accomplish a lot of my major goals for the year. There were a few people that kept telling me how expensive everything was and that I wouldn't make it. It made me realize how much I needed to do it even more. If I lived in fear about everything that could go wrong in life, I would be stuck on my parents couch for the rest of my life. I look back now and smile because I have very much proven them wrong.

There are only a few more months left in the year, so I still need to stay focused on my goals. I have had to force myself to put myself out there and am now slowly, but surely meeting new people. Sometimes, it does feel lonely, but I make the most of my time and things have been going well.

I am loving the process.

I have tried new cuisines and experiences that I would have never tried if I stayed in the MidWest. I have only gotten lost on the subway twice due to the fact that my phone battery died. (Haha, but I made it eventually!) Thankfully, I am getting familiar with the trains and the stops so it's gotten a lot easier now. I went to my very first fashion show and will definitely plan on going to more. I am currently in the search for a permanent place to live. There are times when it has been stressful, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

In the mean time, I would love to know in what ways have you grown this summer?
