There comes a time in life when you have to stop reading and writing about inspirational quotes and just live what you have been preaching for so long. I've been writing about patience, preparation and living without complacency that I found myself a loss for words when I actually started living it.
So here is an update on my life.
I moved to Brooklyn, New York for a photography opportunity that has been very rewarding. It has been probably one of the best life choices that I could have ever made. It has not only shaped me as a photographer, but the personal growth that I have gained has also been fulfilling. I have been able to accomplish a lot of my major goals for the year. There were a few people that kept telling me how expensive everything was and that I wouldn't make it. It made me realize how much I needed to do it even more. If I lived in fear about everything that could go wrong in life, I would be stuck on my parents couch for the rest of my life. I look back now and smile because I have very much proven them wrong.
There are only a few more months left, so I need to stay focused still. I have had to force myself to put myself out there and am now slowly, but surely meeting new people and making friends. Sometimes, it does feel lonely, but I make the most of my time and things have been going well.
I have tried new things like eat falafel and thai food. I have only gotten lost on the subway twice and those were both due to the fact that my Google maps was not available. I am getting familiar with the trains and their stops so it's gotten a lot easier now. I went to my very first fashion show and will definitely plan on going to more. I am currently in the search for a permanent place to live. I am loving the process. even though it is stressful at times. I have really trained myself to be independent and it feels good because I know that I was not always this way.
The photo above was taken at the photo studio that I work at after a fall inspired shoot. Earlier that day, I was able to go to the Farmers Market in Union Square and pick out these lovely pumpkins and gourds. I never knew they could be so colorful!
I will definitely start to post more often and share my daily adventures. In the mean time, I would love to know in what ways have you grown this summer?
